MONCKS CORNER, s.c. - the holiday season comes early each year to an Abbey on a tranquil bluff upstream from Charleston, s.c..
The monks show Mepkin Abbey, even before Thanksgiving, dozens of nursery schools from around the world in what has become a Christmas tradition.
This year an estimated 5,000 people are expected in the Abbey approximately 45 minutes Northwest of Charleston at the annual Mepkin Abbey to visit crib Festival.
This year is the Festival that is free but reservations requires Nov., 15 open display are 73 crib sets made everything from clay and ceramic, porcelain, wood, straw and sticks and lichens.
